ABOUT FRIENDS OF THE POOR INT'L

Friends of the Poor International is a non profit making and Non Governmental Organization (NGO) that was founded by Sir Cosmas E. E. Ezeobi and incorporated on 16th June, 1993 as a company limited by guarantee with the registration number RC 220-972.

The organization commenced charity works with the help of some sponsors drawn from the Catholic and other churches including public spirited individual some of whom did not want their names mentioned.

Our charity programs and projects are helping children and the poorest of the poor by providing food, housing, health care, education, water projects, emergency relief and micro-enterprise assistance.

Our goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children we serve. Friends of the Poor Int’l raises funds and provides direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by purchasing specifically requested materials and distributing to the poor.

  Our charity work reflects God’s unconditional love, which surrenders all, inspires trust and faith, and embraces all people regardless of race, status or creed. We believe that Christ is alive, and that we can best serve Him by being of assistance to those in greatest need (Matthew 25:31-46). Finally, we stress the need for regular prayer to guide and maintain the purity of our mission, to link the church of the First World with the church of the Third World in a manner that helps both the materially poor and the poor in spirit.

The effectiveness of the organization on charity works has been existing since ten (10) years ago in the area of food provision for the poor, caring for poor of the poor and providing shelter, clothing and education for the less privileged of the society.

Presently, Friends of the Poor International wishes to fully participate in life saving works of fighting against the disease, HIV/AIDS in the society
